When & Where
There are two, synchronous 2025 Creative Reboot Workshops available via Zoom. You sign up for either the Sunday or Tuesday session.
Sundays, 10am-noon EST –January 19- April 6
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm EST – January 21-April 8
Outside of our workshop time, you need to invest about two hours per week to reading one chapter of The Artist’s Way & completing the creative exercises from the chapter.
Who & What
You: Creative. Brilliant. Curious. Kind. Also—kind of a freaking mess. Overworked. Tired. Moody AF. You’re also ready to make time for yourself.
Me: I’ve been working with writers & artists for 20+ years & facilitated thousands of workshops. I completed The Artist’s Way for the first time in 2006 & have used the exercises in my creative life since then. Morning Pages changed my life. I want to know your Big Questions & I want to play with your Big Ideas.
Our Time Together:
Each week, you read one chapter of The Artist’s Way & complete your Morning Pages and Artist Date. This’ll take about two hours. You do not need to have a current creative project you’re working on to participate. These sessions and activities apply to any kind of creative practice & more importantly, apply to building a creative life.
During our Zoom workshop, we discuss the week’s chapter & I give you a creative exercise to apply the chapter’s principles to your creative life. Those exercises are compiled & shared with you so you can continue to complete them after the workshop.
Each participant books a one-on-one session with me at the beginning & end of the workshop to discuss your specific goals and challenges.
The Investment: Your time, your commitment to yourself & $500. Email me if you can’t swing $500.
Why
After working with thousands of writers & artists, here’s one thing I know: burnout & obligation are the ultimate enemies of creative freedom. If you’re anything like me, your world is full of burnout & obligation, along with a big dose of comparison, distraction & uncertainty. The antidotes to those deadlies are: ritual, reflection & restorative practice. That’s what The Artist’s Way offers. Simple, structured exercises that remind us not to abandon ourselves as creative beings. It doesn’t matter what you make, whether it’s poetry or painting or pizza. If you want to create a life where creative time isn’t always the first sacrifice you make, you need accountability & community. That’s what this workshop delivers. And if you want to keep up your habits after class is over, you need a deep understanding of why you make things in the first place. You’ll leave with an updated version of what that why is & you’ll get there with other people who are asking the same questions at the same time. If you feel like 2019 was both two months ago & two hundred years ago, you might need a reboot.
